We answer plant and pest questions, and give horticultural advice! Bring us your plant and insect samples.

The UConn Home & Garden Education Center is here to help with your plant and garden questions and pest problems. Experts are available to answer your garden, landscape, insect and pest questions via phone or email or drop by our office. We identify plants and insects, and diagnose plant problems. Control recommendations are provided with an emphasis on least toxic solutions. Check out our Fact Sheets for information on a wide variety topics.

Visiting information

The UConn Home & Garden Education Center is located in Room 4 of the Ratcliffe Hicks Building on the UConn Storrs campus. Off of RT195, take Horsebarn Hill Extension Road. Take your first right, down the short hill. At the bottom of the little hill take a right to the rear of Ratcliffe Hicks. Park against the big stone wall in one of the first two parking spaces for visitors to the Center. Enter the building via the straight handicap ramp into the basement level to room 4.
We are located on block H-9 of the Storrs campus map.

UConn Plant Diagnostic Laboratory

The UConn Plant Diagnostic Laboratory is also located in the Ratcliffe Hicks Arena Building. It offers plant diagnostic services for growers, green industry professionals and gardeners. Click here for more information on services, sample submission and fees.

Samples and questions can also be brought to your County Cooperative Extension Center.
