Beetle Farmer Workshops
for Purple Loosestrife Biological Control
Three Beetle Farmer Workshops are being offered by the University of Connecticut in March and April. The public is invited to attend a workshop to learn how to raise beneficial beetles to control the invasive wetland plant purple loosestrife. Raising beetles for biological control of purple loosestrife is an exciting opportunity for individual, family, and community involvement. No experience is necessary to become a Beetle Farmer. Step-by-step instructions to rear and release the beetles will be provided. The workshops are free and open to the public, but registration is required.
